The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith has a strong, lasting bond with its hometown and the greater River Valley region, a relationship that began in 1928 when we welcomed our first students as a junior college within the newly built Fort Smith Senior High School.

Community Engagement Programs
Íæż½ã½ã Perk Stop Program
The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith has partnered with local and regional businesses to develop the Íæż½ã½ã Perk Stop Program, a university discount program. If you own a business and would like to participate sign up for free and let us help promote your business. *(Some restrictions apply.)
Lion Pride Plates
Show your Lion pride and support future Íæż½ã½ã students by purchasing an official Arkansas Íæż½ã½ã Lion Pride Plate. Lion Pride Plates are regular and personalized Íæż½ã½ã license plates issued by the State of Arkansas. It’s a great way to display your Lion pride wherever you go and contribute to a worthy cause.
Paint the Town Blue
Íæż½ã½ã annually joins with regional business to help celebrate the return of thousands of students through the "Paint the Town Blue" campaign. When you display these vibrant signs during Íæż½ã½ã Move-In and Welcome Week you show our Lions how much they mean to our community and region.
